TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A student will now be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 after being arrested for transporting illegal drugs from Kalinga to Baguio City.
Bgen. Ronald Oliver Lee, regional director of the Cordillera Regional Police Bureau, said officers from the Tabuk City Police Bureau and the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit received information that a man was carrying marijuana on April 3.
Lee said officers immediately went to the area to verify the veracity of the reports which came back positive and resulted in the arrest of 23-year-old Christian Kyle A Tercero, a resident of Upper Pinget, Baguio City.
Police recovered four pieces of dried marijuana bricks weighing 4,000 grams with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P480,000 and a plastic bag containing suspected shabu weighing 0.2 grams with an SDP of P1,360 .
During the investigation, Tercero admitted that in addition to the recovered drug items, he kept three other pieces of dried marijuana bricks weighing 3,000 grams worth P360,000.00 at Purok 5 , Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga which he had previously purchased.
The inventory of evidence was conducted in the presence of the arrested suspect and in the presence of DOJ representative Lailanie S. Balao-ing; media representative and Barangay Kagawad Abraham Licaycay of Bulanao Centro, Tabuk City.
