SPD cops seize over 500,000 pesos worth of illegal drugs in series of drug busts


MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics police officers arrested 11 men and seized 521,560 pesos worth of suspected shabu (crystal meth) in four different entrapment operations on Tuesday in the cities of Muntinlupa, Makati, Parañaque and Las Piñas .

The Director of the Southern Police District (SPD), Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg reported that at around 1:35 p.m., officers from Makati City Police Substation 2 conducted a takeover operation in Barangay Palanan.

The operation resulted in the arrest of Michelle Nepomuceno, Bashier Pacasum, a former drug quit, Josef Dacalos – who was apprehended with an ongoing drug case – and Dolrich Yuayan.

Seven heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance of suspected shabu weighing approximately seven grams with a standard drug price (SDP) of P47,600, a coin purse and an amount of cash of P500 were were recovered from the suspects. during the search operation, according to an SPD report.

Meanwhile, Muntinlupa police arrested two residents of Barangay Putatan around 8:25 p.m. Officials identified the suspects as Raymart Baria and Vivien Koa.

Clear heat-sealed plastic bags containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu weighing two grams and worth 13,600 and 200 pesos were removed from the two.

The SPD also reported that Las Piñas police officers captured Orlando Torio and Cristina Samson along Real St. Barangay Talon Uno around 11:45 p.m. Arresting personnel confiscated three sachets containing alleged shabu weighing approximately 12.7 grams, with an estimated street value of P86,360 and a purchase sum of P200.

Macaraeg said Parañaque City Police officers also carried out an operation around 11:55 p.m. that evening, leading to the arrests of Diosa Padayao, Amado Magno Jr and Noel Sabagkit.

Each of the 14 plastic bags recovered from the suspects contained alleged shabu weighing 55 grams with an SDP of 374,000 pesos. During the operation, a purse, shoulder bag, P2,000 redemption money and P500 cash were also seized.

All apprehended suspects are being held by the respective detention facility of their arresting units pending trial on charges brought against them for violations of Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

In the meantime, the SPD’s forensic unit was tasked with carrying out a chemical analysis of the confiscated evidence to determine the concentration of the illegal drug. Jericho Zafra, Inquirer.net intern
