CDEU Police Chief Lt. Joven Mogato identified the suspect as Gerald Barillo, 25, from Barangay Singcang Airport.

Mogato said it took them four days to monitor Barillo’s activity before launching the operation.

Mogato added that Barillo is a newly identified individual but can be considered a high value individual due to the huge volume of drugs recovered from him.

According to police, Barillo told them that poverty drove him into drug trafficking. Mogato said the illegal drugs would come from out of town.

Barillo is being held at Police Station 8.

A day before the operation, 18-year-old Kingsley Divinagracia from Barangay Singcang Airport was also arrested after police confiscated about 20 grams of alleged shabu worth 136,000 pesos from him during a purchase operation in said village.

Major Joery Puerto, Chief of Police Station 8, said Divinagracia is a street-level individual, who would be under the barangay watch list.

Puerto said Divinagracia allegedly engaged in illegal drug trafficking since he was a minor due to the influence of his environment. He reportedly started out as a “runner” to other drug dealers in the area, Puerto added.
