Remulla’s son charged in local court for importing illegal drugs


CHARGES of violating Republic Law 9165, also known as the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022,” have been filed against the oldest son of Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla, announcing the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency on Friday.

According to the PDEA, the case was filed against Juanito Jose Remulla, 3rd, 38, on Thursday at the Las Piñas city attorney’s office.

Juanito is facing criminal charges after being arrested for allegedly claiming 1.25 million pesos worth of “kush” in a controlled delivery operation in the town of Las Piñas.

He will be charged with violation of Section 4 of Section 2 of RA 9165 for importing dangerous drugs.

An official PDEA statement says Juanito’s arrest took place at 11:10 a.m. on October 11 at Block 6, Lot 7, Primrose St., Ponte Verde BF Resort Village, Talon Dos, but was only reported two days later.

During the operation, the Ninoy Aquino International Airport-Inter-Agency Drug Prohibition Task Group (NAIA-IADITG) seized 893.91 grams of marijuana kush, a package with an invoice indicating the sender/receiver with two paper bags brown tied and bubble wrapped each where plastic kush pouches were found; a blue notepad, parcel receipt and driver’s license card.

The Ninoy Aquino International Airport-Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG) is a composite counter-narcotics team that includes the PDEA.
