Illegal drugs worth 1.5 million pesos confiscated in Talisay, Danao


NEARLY 1.5 million pesos of illegal drugs were confiscated and 47 drug suspects were arrested in drug operations in Talisay and Danao towns in Cebu on Saturday June 25, 2022.

The recent transport by police personnel from the cities of Talisay and Danao was carried out during the implementation of the Simultaneous Crime Law Enforcement (Sacleo) Operation on Saturday.

In the city of Talisay, anti-narcotics agents led by Lt. Col. Randy Caballes were able to recover approximately 235 grams of alleged shabu worth 1.5 million pesos during several operations they carried out in the town.

They also arrested six drug suspects, 13 illegal gamblers, four men with pending warrants and 20 traffic violators. The arrested suspects are expected to be charged within a week.

In Danao City, local police led by Colonel Fortunato Ecleo Jr. were able to confiscate approximately 14.68 grams of shabu worth 99,824 pesos.

Ecleo and his staff were also able to arrest four drug suspects.

CMSgt. Reynante Manulat, chief investigator of the Danao City Police Station, said the arrest of the drug suspects was completed due to the information they received from the community.

During their operations, the four individuals were arrested at their homes. They were Dante Matuto, 36, from Barangay Guinsay, Adrian Matugas, 27, from Barangay Ibo, Tricia Marie Tugade, 26, from Barangay Looc and Imac Jones Hermoso Manto, 32, from Barangay Tuburan Sur.

Those arrested will face charges of breaching the Dangerous Drugs Act 2002.
