Cavite cops seize $7.5 million illegal drugs in October



LUCENA CITY – Police in Cavite seized more than 7.5 million pesos worth of illegal drugs and arrested 834 suspected criminals in the province during the month-long operation in October.

In a report, the Cavite Provincial Police Office said Wednesday (November 2) that they arrested 472 suspected drug traffickers and confiscated 852 packets of “shabu” (crystal meth) and 131 packets of marijuana during anti-crime operations of the 1st to October 31.

The volume of illegal drugs confiscated was not specified in the report, but it indicated that the total drug trafficking has an estimated value by the Dangerous Drugs Board of 7,554,498 pesos.

During the same period, 174 illegal gamblers and 188 wanted criminals were also arrested, some of whom were on the region’s most wanted list.
