Newry, Morne & Down Area Commander Superintendent Norman Haslett said: ‘During the searches we seized approximately £200,000 in the two Class A and Class B suspected controlled drugs and counterfeit goods.

“A sum of £25,000 in cash and a quad bike were also seized during the proactive policing operation.

“A 30-year-old woman, suspected of drug-related offences, has been arrested and remains in police custody assisting with investigations.

“This is another example of local law enforcement’s determination to get drugs off our streets and to arrest and prosecute those who make a living from drug trafficking.

“The devastating impact of the drug trade on communities, families and children is well documented.

“Together we can stop him and I would ask anyone with information about drug trafficking in your area to please pass this information on to the police, by calling 101.”

On Sunday, police seized £100,000 in cash, drugs and suspected firearms in Bessbrook.

There is no connection between the seizures.
