2 ex-convicts returned to prison for drug trafficking


TWO people who were previously imprisoned due to illegal drugs have been returned to jail after being arrested during a drug raid in Manipis mountain barangay, Talisay City, Cebu at 9:25 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2022.

Police Lt. Elwood Ebona of the Talisay City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit, who led the operation, identified the suspects as Raymond Silva, 37, of Purok Kaimito. Barangay Manipis, and his neighbor Elmer Radana, 39.

The two produced an alleged shabu with a standard drug price of 36,000 pesos during the raid.

Police Lt. Col. Randy Caballes, Talisay City Police Station Chief, said he learned from their investigation that Silva was previously arrested in Valenzuela City, Metro Manila in 2019 for violating Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and was released after serving his sentence, while Radana was also sent to prison in 2017 for a similar matter, but was released several days after posting bail for his temporary release and later released on probation by the court. .

Talisay Police also learned that the drug supply for the two men came from a certain Alvin. (BBT, TPT)
