LEGAZPI CITY – A high-value drug suspect produced P 40,800 of shabu (crystal meth) after being arrested by police on Monday during an operation in Baao town, Camarines Sur province.
Police Major Mary Grace Tagtag, Baao Police Chief, said in a report that Sancho Lomeda, 48, was arrested during a Barangay Buluang operation around 5:30 p.m.
Tagtag said when police responded to a report of an illegal gambling operation in the area, they noticed Lomeda became uncomfortable and started pulling a blue plastic box out of her pocket, which, according to her, contained nine sachets of shabu.
During a body search, the police also recovered another sachet of shabu from the suspect.
Tagtag said a total of 6 grams of shabu was confiscated from Lomeda, which was on the illegal drug watch list.
Lomeda is now in custody and faces charges of violating the 2002 Dangerous Drugs Act.
