Man arrested with loaded handgun and illegal drugs after search by Dutchess


A Hudson Valley man has been arrested for suspected criminal possession of controlled substances and a loaded handgun following a warrant search of his home.

The warrant was executed in Dutchess County in the town of Poughkeepsie on Friday, May 6.

Following an investigation, Luis A. Martinez, age unknown, of the town of Poughkeepsie, was arrested following the search during which a number of illegal drugs and a loaded handgun were found were found, according to Det. sergeant. Adam Harris of the Dutchess County Drug Task Force.

He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and criminal possession of a weapon, Harris said.

He was returned to Dutchess County Jail, Harris added.
