Bill Cosby’s Confession

Methaqualone is again in the news. A famous American comedian Bill Cosby admitted recently under oath that earlier he had obtained several prescriptions for Quaaludes, which is a methaqualone-based medicine. He used the drug to get sexual intercourse with CNN personnel. This case involves more than 20 women, and any complaints remain unproven. This powerful sedative is in schedule 1 in the United States since 1984. It provides especially dangerous effects when used with alcohol. In the 1970s, Quaaludes were the 6th best selling medicine in the US; it was usually prescribed to treat insomnia and to serve as a muscle relaxant.
