6.9 million pesos of illegal drugs intercepted

One KILO of substance believed to be shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) was seized during a controlled delivery operation in the town of Caloocan on Wednesday evening March 16, 2022.

The operation was launched by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Central Luzon, Clark Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group, Bureau of Customs Port of Clark, PDEA-National Capital Region and units of the Philippine National Police.

The recipient has been identified as Charlene Nworisa, a resident of Bagumbong Dulo, Caloocan City.

Authorities said the bundle containing shabu was concealed inside the figurine cavity.

“The package originated from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and arrived at Clark Port on March 12, 2022. Generally, it has undergone the process of x-ray and field testing using Rigaku Progency who has led to the discovery of 31 translucent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance weighing approximately 1,000 grams which prompted us to initiate a controlled delivery operation,” the PDEA said.

A charge of violation of Section 4 (importing dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 will be filed against the plaintiff.
