4 arrested, more P1.6-M illegal drugs seized in Baguio, Pampanga busts

MANILA, Philippines — Four “high-value” drug figures, including a minor, were arrested by authorities on Wednesday in separate operations in Baguio City and Pampanga that also led to the seizure of more than 1.6 million pesos worth of banned drugs, Philippines National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos said in a statement on Thursday.

In Baguio City, the PNP said two “high-value targets” were arrested around 5 p.m. They have been identified as 23-year-old Genesis Pagaduan and his 17-year-old cohort.

Police seized from the suspects six bricks of dried marijuana stems and leaves weighing 6 kilograms with an estimated value of 720,000 pesos and the redemption money.

The PNP also reported that police officers from the town of Mabalacat in Pampanga also arrested Joven Torreliza, 53, who is another “high-value target”, during an operation in Barangay (village) Dau in the town of Mabalacat around 8:25 p.m.

Police said a belt bag, redemption money and three clear plastic bags containing suspected shabu (crystal meth) weighing more or less 80 grams worth P544,000 were seized in Torreliza.

Torreliza is now being held at Mabalacat town police station for documentation and disposal, PNP said.

Meanwhile, Pampanga police also arrested 60-year-old Angelito Bartolo during a booby-trap operation in Barangay (village) San Jose in the city of Guagua, PNP said.

Were recovered from the suspect 12 transparent plastic bags containing alleged shabu weighing more or less 55 grams with a market value of 374,000 pesos, a pouch, three mobile phones, a collection pouch and the money from the purchase. , said the PNP.
